The frequent five
OCF (overcurrent): the ATV dialect of the universal story — mechanics seized, motor/cable insulation failing under PWM, ramp too ambitious, motor data wrong. Same checklist as any overcurrent: hand-rotate, megger (disconnected!), sanity-check data and autotune status, and only then suspect silicon.
SCF (motor short circuit / ground fault variants): usually honest — the drive measured a real insulation event. Cable glands full of water and terminal-box shorts lead the parade; test the cable separately from the motor to split the suspects.
OLF (motor overload): the thermal model did its job — verify the thermal current setting against the actual motor (the parameter inherited from the last motor is a classic), then ask why the load grew: process change, mechanical drag, low-speed duty on a self-cooled motor.
OHF (drive overheating): cooling forensics — filters, fans, panel airflow, ambient, switching frequency raised for acoustics. Trend it; summer finds these.
CnF/CoF-class (communication faults): the fieldbus watchdog fired — network health, not drive health; check the fallback behavior configuration matches what the machine should do on comm loss (freewheel vs controlled stop vs speed hold — a decision, not a default).

Auto-restart after faults — enable it? Only for faults where unattended restart is safe by risk assessment (a remote fan, maybe; anything with people or product in reach, no).
